About Daniels Cablevision
-Bill Daniels, Founder
Bill Daniels, owner of Daniels Cablevision, is regarded by the industry as "the father of cable television."
His story is one of vision, entrepreneurship and humanitarianism.
His devotion to cable television has translated into a life of trailblazing. He served as the earliest leader of the now National Cable Television Association, founded the first cable brokerage company and launched the first cable investment banking business.
He has owned and operated hundreds of cable systems, created innovative sports programming companies, and, along the way, has devoted a sizable share of his time to the creation of new civic enterprises, to helping those less fortunate, and to cultivating a new generation of industry leaders.
He built his first cable system in 1953 in Casper, WY after leaving the Navy where he was a decorated fighter pilot in World War II. The Casper system used a microwave relay system to import signals from Denver. It was one of the first cable systems to use microwave relay systems.
Bill's status in the industry is such that Cablevision Magazine, which annually presents an award to the top cable operator in the United States, named the award the Bill Daniels Operator of the Year Award.
