SUMMARY OF POSITION: Performs the day-to-day operations of studio equipment for local origination and local access programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*
Operates camera, video tape recorder lights and other studio equipment.
Sets up and strikes equipment, lifts and carries equipment up to 70 lbs. Drives company vehicles.
Checks all equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Oversees the proper storage of equipment.
Serves as writer, producer, director and editor in a variety of productions.
Stages, designs and lights sets for a variety of productions.
Serves as back-up for cablecast programming for community programming.
Other functions as assigned by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (unless specified otherwise):
A high school diploma or equivalent.
One year experience in video production to include writing/producing & editing skills.
Ability to perform basic production techniques to include lighting, production-set-up and equipment operation.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work well with others toward the goal of a quality production.
Must possess a valid California Drivers License and a satisfactory driving record.
THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic technical knowledge of television production both in studio and remote.
Script writing experience.
